Bhajan-Yoga Showcase

posted Apr 20, 2016, 11:13 AM by Balvihar Teachers Bhajans

Dear Parents,
As you all know, we are preparing with lot of enthusiasm for the Bhajan-Yoga Showcase scheduled for May 1st.

Over the past few weeks, class 6 & 7 have been practicing the "Suraj ki garmi se" song. Combining both the groups seems to be working well, rendering much better range and volume. May kids have also done well remembering the lyrics.

In order to get the desired effect for the Showcase, we introduced Karaoke for this song for the prior two classes; and it worked quite well. Kids are more comfortable and enthusiastic with the accompanying music.
We are attaching karaoke music with this post. Also reattaching the complete audio track and lyrics for this song.

We would request you to encourage your kids to practice the song along with karaoke, so that they are much better prepared for the actual Showcase event. In order to help them pick up their starting notes with the karaoke, it is recommended that they listen to the song audio track in parallel with the karaoke track initially till they are comfortable.
To help further, we are also attaching the karaoke video Youtube URL.
Just remember to skip the second (middle) stanza, because we are doing only two stanzas for the Showcase.

We will practice again this Sunday (April 24th). We are sure the kids will do great; your encouragement will give them the additional confidence to excel !!

Thanks & Regards,
Bhajan Teachers
(Kavita, Padmaja, Rahul, Varsha)

Dear Parents,
We introduced a new bhajan/song for Classes 6 & 7.

The song is titled "Suraj ki garmi se jalte hue tan ko". It is a well known song from our childhood time; but was certainly new for kids. They seem to have liked it, mainly because of the beat and tone.

We are attaching audio clip and lyrics of the song for your reference. Request you to encourage your kids to listen to this and practice the song.

Regards,
Bhajan Teachers

Awesome job in class today! You all sang loud and clear and all the teachers could see a marked difference. Keep up the good work!!

We revisited "Jaya Jaya He..". we are getting better at it so keep working on it. Rahul uncle started a beautiful abhang today that goes "Ohmkara Swarupa..". Abhang is a marathi devotional song sung usually in praise of lord Vithoba or Vitthala. Please make every effort to learn and memorize all the songs that are being taught.

Your homework for next class is to memorize first verse of "Mudakara", "jaya Jaya he" and "Ohmkara Swarupa"
Every verse recited back with the proper tune will earn you a candy so get busy. :-)

Remember to bring your printed sheets to every class. If you do not have a copy print it out. Here is the link to all your songs 2014 - 2015 Group 7A Bhajan Booklet

Rahul uncle taught us a beautiful new aarti for Ganesha.  "Sukh Karta Dukh Harta.." is a very popular Marathi song.  Thanks Rahul uncle for teaching this song.

We would like for you all to practice it and memorize it. This could possibly be our song for Diwali program at the temple.

The pdf for the lyrics and an mp3 for you to listen to are uploaded here.
Make sure to listen to it and practice it.

Homework for this week is for you to print the lyrics and bring it along for next class,

Group 7A

Today in class we practiced "Jaya Jaya He".. I can see that it is getting better after each practice.
Some of you said that the song was difficult...I want to give it some time and practice before we give up on it.

It is a very nice song but challenging. I am sure with some practice we will get it. I was hoping for group 7 to perform for Diwali at the temple. If we dont get it by next class or two, we will change the song.

Knowing how good you were last year, I think you will get it. So, please try to practice. Take your parent's help if necessary.
